Little Shop of Horrors

Little Shop of Horrors by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman
Pit and Balcony Community Threatre, 2008
Directed by Lee-Perry Belleau, designed by Marc Beaudin

The concept for this design, as an homage to the original film, was to begin with everything in grayscale, like a black and white movie: the set, costumes, props. Then with the growth of Audrey II more and more splashes of color were introduced to attest to the bizarre influence of this alien lifeform. The band was located in the wings with a live video feed transforming one of the florist shop walls into a projection screen during the bigger musical numbers.
Our puppets were created by Jason Graham.
